CSR governance

Intesa Sanpaolo intends to create long-term value in order to contribute to sustainable development in the community in which it operates.

This aim is maintained by improving relations with all stakeholders and consolidating mutual trust and by progressively and actively taking their needs into account in the organisational and operational strategies of the company.

In order to monitor and coordinate the various topics connected to social responsibility a specific unit has been set up - the Corporate Social Responsibility Unit - and management tools have been identified, both strategic (mission, Code of Ethics, policies and certifications) and operational (Social Report, dialogue with stakeholders, in-house communication and staff training).

The commitment of Intesa Sanpaolo to direct its strategies and governance on the basis of corporate social responsibility principles has become tangible in a continuous and progressive development, dating back to 1997, with the launching of the first ethical funds and hence with the ethical indices, the definition of CSR guidelines, the adherence to international organisations and principles, the involvement and training of staff.
